Pet Boarding Services

We know how stressful it can be when you have to leave your cherished pet when you go out of town – especially if they are sick, or are recovering from a  surgery or procedure. Our caring team of vets at Heart of Georgia Animal Care wants to help ease your mind.

We offer all of our patients' complete general pet boarding services, and medical boarding for pets that have conditions standard boarding centers might not be able to accommodate.

Medical Pet Boarding for Cats & Dogs

Pet Boarding: A Typical Day

Dog Boarding

Every morning, all dogs staying with us go outside for an outdoor run and fresh air before breakfast. While they are outside, we clean, disinfect, and stock their kennels with fresh linens.

Depending on your pup's physical capacity and ability, we will take them for a walk on a regular schedule.

Your dog will also be supervised during their entire stay with us – both during walks and while they rest. We serve dinner in the evening and take them for one final walk before bedtime.

Cat Boarding

We will feed your cat following your specifications and their requirements, to keep their routine the same as it is at home.

We give all kitties daily one-on-one interaction time (if they want it!) including play, snuggles, and pets. We also check, clean, and disinfect their litter boxes periodically during the day.

We also refresh linens and clean your kitty's room every day. We keep our cat boarding area separate from the dog area to make sure your kitty feels comfortable and safe when they stay with us.

Medical Boarding

Your cat or dog will be supervised by our knowledgable veterinarians and nurses, who will administer your pet's medications and watch over them closely. We will administer the medications your pet requires following the same schedule they are used to at home.

  • How should I prepare for my pet's stay?

Every animal is different. To prepare for your cat or dog's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to make sure we can meet their unique needs.

Step 1: Contact us to get started

Call us to schedule, and discuss details about your cat or dog and your boarding needs. One of our team members will be happy to coordinate your booking.

Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.

Step 2: Book a trial stay

We want to be absolutely sure that we are a good fit for your pet before an extended stay. The trial stay consists of a full day of daycare where we can take the time to assess your pet's temperament and make sure they fit in with the pack.

Step 3: Set your pet up for success

On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are several things you can do to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.

Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful, and confident during the separation.
